Recipe Ingredients for Maroni's 100 Year Old Marinara Sauce (0.5 Cal/gm)

2 tbsps olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, chopped
56 oz crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 cup water

Recipe Directions for Maroni's 100 Year Old Marinara Sauce (0.5 Cal/gm)

Saute onion in hot olive oil until it starts to brown; add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add basil and tomatoes, salt and pepper. Rinse out cans with water and add to sauce. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes. (If using fresh basil, use about a handful and add after cooked and removed from heat. Allow time for flavors to blend)
