Recipe Ingredients for Marnie's Cheesy Chicken and Vegetable Soup

3 c water
2 tsp chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c milk
1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded (more or less to taste)
1 lb boneless chicken, precooked and cubed OR 1 can chicken chunks, drained
1/2 lb baby carrots, cut into thirds
1 c broccoli florets, cut into small pieces
1 pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Marnie's Cheesy Chicken and Vegetable Soup

  1. In large pot, combine bouillon, garlic salt, and water and begin heating on medium.

  2. Add milk, soup and cheese and stir well.

  3. Add chicken and vegetables and stir well. Simmer over medium-low heat until vegetables are soft. (Note: to prepare soup faster, presteam carrots to soften before adding to soup...reduces simmer time substantially.)

  4. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking to bottom of pot. Add pepper to season as desired.

  5. I have also used corn and green beans in place of the broccoli and carrots. Use whichever vegetables you desire. This soup can be done in very little time, depending on the vegetables used.

  6. To reduce fat, use low-fat cheese and reduced fat soup.
