Sweet and savory - use brown rice pasta or other whole grain pasta; Also, the lowfat yogurt should be vanilla flavored for that extra sweetness

Recipe Ingredients for Marjoram Sherry Pasta Dinner

1/2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 medium Onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 oz. chicken thigh
1 1/2 oz. cooked shrimp
1 dash marjoram
1 dash black pepper
1 dash kosher salt
1 dash rosemary
1/2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup cauliflower
1 tbsp lowfat yogurt
3 tbsp Cooking Sherry
1/4 cup water
1 4/5 oz. whole wheat penne
1/2 medium tomato, diced
4/5 oz feta cheese

Recipe Directions for Marjoram Sherry Pasta Dinner

  1. Cook onion and garlic until soft

  2. Remove from pan and set aside

  3. Add chicken thigh which should be chopped into small pieces. Let cook for about 5 minutes or until almost done

  4. Toss the chicken with marjoram and rosemary

  5. Add shrimp. Add black pepper and let cook about 4 minutes more.

  6. Remove the meat from the pan and add sherry. Scrape the bottom of the pan and add the water.

  7. Let simmer for a few seconds, then add the butter. Let it melt, then turn heat up a bit so simmering is serious.

  8. Keep stirring the sauce until it appears to be a bit thicker.

  9. Add the yogurt. Let sauce simmer for a bit loger until it looks a bit thicker. If it still isn't thickening, you can add a spoonfull of the pasta water that remains when the pasta is done cooking.

  10. Add the cauliflower, meat and onion mixtures, and reduce heat to medium low.

  11. Toss until sauce thickens a bit more.

  12. Remove from pan, put mixture on a plate and top with tomato and feta cheese.
