Recipe Ingredients for Marinara Sauce

3 1/2 cups stewed tomatoes, 2 - 14.5 oz cans
6 ounce tomato paste, 1 can
4 tablespoons parsley, fresh chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon oregano, dried
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, ground
6 tablespoons olive oil
1/3 cup onion, finely diced
1/2 cup white wine

Recipe Directions for Marinara Sauce

  1. Use Italian or Stewed Tomatoes

  2. Puree tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.

  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, saute thechopped onion in olive oil for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the blended tomato sauce and white wine.

  4. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often.
