A basic & simple marinara sauce. San Marzano peeled tomatoes, if you can find them. I added the garlic & fresh basil. Serve with whole wheat pasta. Top with a grating of fresh Parmesan or Romano cheeses.

Recipe Ingredients for Marinara Sauce

30 oz whole tomatoes
2 onions, sliced in half
1/4 cup butter
1 tbs garlic
1 tbs basil

Recipe Directions for Marinara Sauce

Simmer all ingredients for 90 minutes covered. Then 30 minutes uncovered. Remove onions before serving.
