A simple, basic cake, free of butter (or butter-substitutes,) or eggs.

Recipe Ingredients for Maple Syrup Sweet Cake

1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup Organic Pure Maple Syrup
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup nonfat evaporated milk
1 tbsp safflower oil
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 tsp vinegar (opt.)

Recipe Directions for Maple Syrup Sweet Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Mix or sift dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Measure in the wet ingredients, and stir with a fork until no lumps remain. (stir in vinegar at the end, right before putting in oven)

  3. Pour into a greased 8" x 8" pan.

  4. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes or until tests done.

  5. Cut into sixteen 2" x 2" cake squares
