Recipe Ingredients for Maple-Caramel Cinnamon Raisin Sticky Buns

6 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
2 pkg. active dry yeast
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup maple syrup
1 cup butter
2 cups raisins
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Maple-Caramel Cinnamon Raisin Sticky Buns

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons salt, and 2 packages active dry yeast; blend well. In small saucepan, heat 1 cup water, 1 cup milk, and 1/2 cup butter until very warm (120 deg F to 130 deg F). Add warm liquid and 1 egg to flour mixture. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed. By hand, stir in an additional 3 cups flour until dough pulls cleanly away from sides of bowl.

  2. On floured surface, knead in 1 to 2 cups flour until dough is smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover loosely with plastic wrap and cloth towel. Let rise in warm place (80 deg F to 85 deg F) until light and doubled in size, about 45 to 60 minutes.

  3. Punch down dough to remove all air bubbles. Divide dough in half.

  4. Generously grease 13x9-inch pan. In small bowl, combine 1/2 cup firmly packed bown sugar, 1/2 cup maple syrup, and 1/2 cup softened butter; blend well. Drop mixture by spoonfuls into prepared pan; spread evenly. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup raisins. On lightly floured surface, roll out 1/2 of the dough prepared above to a 20x12-inch rectangle. Spread with 2 tablespoons softened butter. In small bowl combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; blend well. Sprinkle over dough. Sprinkle 1/2 cup raisins over dough. Starting with 20-inch side, roll up jelly-roll fashion; pinch edges firmly to seal seams. Cut into twenty 1-inch slices; place cut side down in prepared pan.

  5. Cover; let rise in a warm place (80 deg F to 85 deg F) until light and doubled in size, about 35 to 45 minutes. Heat oven to 375 deg F. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool in pan 1 minute; invert onto wire rack.
