Basic green smoothie recipe-one more way to sneak in greens:)

Recipe Ingredients for Mandie's Green Smoothie

2 cups spinach
1 cup kale
1 orange
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 1/2 bananas
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup mango
1 green apple
2 stalks celery
2 1/2 cups water

Recipe Directions for Mandie's Green Smoothie

  1. I start with greens and flax seed oil. Always use the bananas for smoothness. You can sub any frozen fruit you'd like in place of strawberries and mangos. -This is not a weight loss drink but if you'd like to sub it for a meal, I'd add a whey or hemp protien powder. It'll add calories + protien and bring you to the 400-450 cal range but acceptible in my book especially after a workout. Also, if I don't have the orange- no biggy it tastes just as good. I like to add stevia as well ( own personal preference).

  2. If blender is not high powered, blend the greens first then each additional ingredient first so as not to have a sludgy texture. Play with it and make it your own!
