Basic Granola recipe I make. It is addicting stuff, very good mixed with yogurt. You can add to this with a little chocolate or fruit (dried banana chips are good, raisins or cranberries too) or subtract by taking out the coconut, etc. to lower calories/fat. If you add fruit, do so at very end when mix is cooled. If you add chocolate, use choc chips and add when the stuff is cooling at very end, mix them through and they will melt, coating the whole thing with chocolate taste. Nutrition facts may be slightly off, since I use low fat peanut butter and could not find the ingredient, so it says regular peanut butter.

Recipe Ingredients for MAN Basic Granola

6 cups organic rolled oats
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1/2 cup Peanuts
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup Sunflower Seeds
1/8 cup Flax seeds

Recipe Directions for MAN Basic Granola

  1. Preheat oven to 325

  2. Use roasting pan on 2 burners, add oats and cook over medium heat, stirring with wood spoon so they dont burn--cook about 5 to 10 min

  3. Add peanuts and sunflower seeds and coconut. stir, then lower heat

  4. Put honey and peanut butter in glass bowl, microwave about 30 seconds to soften them and then mix the two together

  5. Turn heat off oats, add flax seeds and honey/peanut butter, mix through thoroghly

  6. Take pan and place in oven for 20 minutes, stir once or twice when it is in the oven so the peanut butter does not burn.

  7. After 20 minutes, remove and let cool; mix thoroughly again and store it: I use glass jelly and pasta sauce and Mason jars. Youcan measure small portions to ziplocks too. Will last several weeks before spoiling.
