I make these as pancakes, but they make great waffles too. 1/4 c. of batter is a serving.

Recipe Ingredients for Mammaw's Waffles

1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 tablespoons water
1 cups all-purpose flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice

Recipe Directions for Mammaw's Waffles

  1. Disolve yeast in warm water and 1 Tbsp. of sugar. Wait for it to proof.

  2. In a seperate bowl, add all the dry ingredients and mix well. Add the liquids, including the yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Make pancakes!
