This is a trimmed down version of my mom's macaroni and cheese.

Recipe Ingredients for Mama's Mac and Cheese

1 pound macaroni, whole wheat, cooked
8 ounces cheddar cheese, made with 2 % milk
3 tbsp butter
1 cup milk, fat-free

Recipe Directions for Mama's Mac and Cheese

  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees. Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray.

  2. Cook macaroni and drain.

  3. Pour a small layer of macaroni in the dish. Layer cheese and dot the butter. Repeat until all ingredients are used.

  4. Pour milk over top.

  5. Bake for 30 minutes until brown.

  6. Salt and pepper to taste.
