South African desert; sponge cake with cream sauce

Recipe Ingredients for Malva


Cake:
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 tbl jam
1 tbl white vinegar
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 tbl butter (melty)

Sauce:
1 cup milk
250 ml fresh cream
1 can evaporated milk
4 tbl butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup sugar

Recipe Directions for Malva

  1. Mix cake ingredients and bake at 180 degrees for 30 min.

  2. Mix sauce ingredients. Take cake out of oven and poke holes in it with cake tester. Pour sauce over cake. Serve warm.
