The award-winning dough for our annual Superbowl Sunday pizza fundraiser (we multiply this recipe by 25 to make a batch). Makes one twelve-inch round pizza crust.

Recipe Ingredients for MAD Class Pizza Dough

3/4 cup warm water (not scalding; 110 degrees)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 3/4 cups white flour
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 1/4 tsp regular active dry yeast

Recipe Directions for MAD Class Pizza Dough

  1. Heat mixing bowl by swishing hot water around in it for a minute.

  2. Put warm water, honey, olive oil and yeast in mixing bowl. Allow to proof (rise) for ten minutes.

  3. Mix in salt.

  4. Fold white flour gradually into mixture. When firm, pick up dough with hands and knead for six minutes.

  5. Place dough on floured wooden surface and let rise for twenty minutes.

  6. Flatten into 12" round crust on lightly greased pizza pan or stone.

  7. Let rise for another 15-20 minutes.

  8. Cover with toppings (pizza sauce, shredded cheeses, pepperoni, etc.).

  9. Bake at 475 degrees for 12 minutes or until crust is light brown.
