Recipe Ingredients for Macrina Bakery Ginger & Molasses Cookies

2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
6 tbsp butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp fresh ginger
1/3 cup molasses
1 c sugar

Recipe Directions for Macrina Bakery Ginger & Molasses Cookies

mix flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Set aside. Mix shortening, butter, brown sugar. Add egg. Add ginger and molasses. Fold in flour mxture. Chill dough for 1 hour or more. Preheat oven to 350. Roll dough into 2 inch balls. Toss each ball into sugar to coat. Put 8 balls on a baking sheet. Slightly flatten each ball with your palm Bake one sheet at a time, 15-18 mins. Rotate pan every 4 minutes or so. Cool for 15 minutes.
