Quite high, but main meal and could make six portions. Can also keep calories down a bit by using "sauce flour" and no butter

Recipe Ingredients for Macaroni Cheese

360 g macaroni
130 g Cheddar cheese
1 pt semi skimmed milk
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp mustard powder

Recipe Directions for Macaroni Cheese

  1. Mix milk & sauce flour and bring to simmer to thicken

  2. Stir in mustard powder and grated cheese (keep a little cheese for topping)and continue to simmer for a few minutes

  3. Meanwhile cook macaroni in lightly salted water and drain thoroughly

  4. Take cheese sauce off heat and stir in macaroni

  5. Put mix in low sided oven proof dish and sprinkle with remainder of cheese

  6. Bake at 180C for abot 30 mins until brown on top

  7. Serve with green salad
