Yummy homemade macaroni and cheese

Recipe Ingredients for Macaroni and Cheese

16 oz. whole wheat macaroni
6 tbsp I can't believe it's not butter
2 tbsp sour cream
1/2 c flour
2 tsp dry ground mustard
1/8 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp salt
5 c skim milk
4 c low fat cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Macaroni and Cheese

  1. Cook pasta

  2. Preheat oven to 375F

  3. In large saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter and sour cream

  4. Stir in flour, mustard and salt

  5. Gradually stir in milk and add pepper

  6. Cook and stir until mixture thickens slightly and bubbles

  7. Remove from heat

  8. Add 2 c cheese; stir until melted

  9. In a large bowl, combine sauce with pasta

  10. Spoon into a greased 13x9 in. baking dish

  11. Top with remaining cheese

  12. Bake 40 minutes or until hot and bubbly

  13. Let stand 10 minutes
