Recipe Ingredients for Macaroni and Cheese w/ Ham and Broccoli

7 ounces whole wheat elbow macaroni, uncooked
2 cups fat free milk
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
8 ounces reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded
12 ounces broccoli, chopped
1/2 pound ham

Recipe Directions for Macaroni and Cheese w/ Ham and Broccoli

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. In last 3 minutes of cooking, add broccoli to boiling water. Drain.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8 inch square baking dish with cooking spray. In saucepan, cook shopped ham until brown. Set aside.

  3. In same pan, whisk milk, flour, mustard, salt, pepper, red pepper until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted.

  4. Add cheese sauce to cooked macaroni; mix well. Spoon into baking dish.

  5. Bake 20-25 minutes or until edges are bubbly.
