A great grown-up way to have Macaroni and Cheese, and kids will love it too!

Recipe Ingredients for Macaroni Casserole

1 lb whole wheat penne pasta
1 cup cheddar cheese
1 cup monterey jack cheese
6 cups 2% milk
1 pinch cayenne
1 tbs salt
1 tsp pepper
1 medium onion
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tbs flour

Recipe Directions for Macaroni Casserole

  1. Boil pasta, set aside

  2. Sautee onions, whisk in flour and milk until smooth

  3. Bring to a boil

  4. Add salt, cayenne, pepper, and 1/2 cup of each cheese. Stir until smooth.

  5. Fold in pasta

  6. Mix bread crumbs with remainder of cheese and a pinch of extra salt

  7. Bake in a casserole dish at 350 until cheese is bubbly, approximately 30 min
