Homemade mac and cheese sauce with no artificial flavoring.

Recipe Ingredients for Mac and Cheese Sauce

2 tbsp Butter
1/4 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 cup Milk, Lowfat, Fluid, 1% Milkfat
4 oz 2% Milk Reduced Fat Mild Cheddar

Recipe Directions for Mac and Cheese Sauce

  1. Melt butter in the bottom of a saucepan.

  2. Add flour and whisk together until it forms a paste.

  3. Let the mixture brown slightly, stirring constantly.

  4. Add milk slowly, whisking continuously, until the mixture is fully incorporated and lumps are at a minimum.

  5. Once the sauce has thickened, add shredded cheese, salt and pepper to taste, and any other spices you want.

  6. Serve over pasta.
