Low-fat version of NYT home-made recipe Milo likes.

Recipe Ingredients for Mac & Cheese

3 cups skim milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups cheddar cheese, 2% fat
1/2 pound macaroni

Recipe Directions for Mac & Cheese

  1. Mix everything together in casserole

  2. Bake at 375 for 60 minutes; covered 30 minutes, stir, uncovered 30 minutes.

  3. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
