Recipe Ingredients for Ma Poa Tofu

28 ounce firm tofu
8 ounce ground pork
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp oyster sauce
1 ounce soy sauce
1 Chili pepper flakes, to taste
1 green onion

Recipe Directions for Ma Poa Tofu

  1. 2 small packages of tofu (Chinese firm)

  2. pound ground pork (not Italian sausage, as it will be too salty)

  3. 1 onion, finely chopped

  4. - cup water

  5. 3+ Tbsp oyster sauce

  6. Soy sauce (a few splashes)

  7. Chili pepper flakes, to taste

  8. 1 Green onion, sliced (optional)

  9. Make rice ahead of time.

  10. Stir fry onion and pork until onion is soft. Add cup water (more later, if needed, while simmering) and drained tofu, oyster sauce and soy sauce to taste. Break up tofu into ?crouton-sized pieces? and simmer until heated through. Add chili flakes to taste. Serve with rice. Garnish with green onions.
