All purpose BBQ sauce for meats or dipping. I don't like sweet commercial sauces, and this is a handy sauce to keep in the fridge for everything from dipping sweet potato fries to basting a pork shoulder. It is very adaptable. Leave out the cola and add another acidic liquid, like lime juice or vinegar for a less sweet sauce with bite. Substitute more mustard for the tomato paste for a Carolina style BBQ sauce. If you don't care about sugar, add honey for a sweeter honey-BBQ sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Low Sugar BBQ Sauce

1/4 cup chopped chipotle pepper
1 small onion, minced

12 oz diet cola
3 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Recipe Directions for Low Sugar BBQ Sauce

  2. Add it all together in a stock pot and simmer until it reaches the desired consistency.
