I adapted this simple recipe to make it more appropriate for diabetic and low fat diets.It may seem tart because of the low sugar but you get used to this.

Recipe Ingredients for Low Fat Low Sugar Apple Crisp

6 cups chopped apples
1 cup whole wheat flour
3 cups oats
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Low Fat Low Sugar Apple Crisp

  1. Put chopped apples in a 9 x 13" pan. Blend remaining ingredients with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly.

  2. Pour over apples and press into place.Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
