Low fat treat using applesauce instead of shortening.

Recipe Ingredients for Low Fat Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

1 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Whole Egg
4 Egg Whites
1 1/2 cup Flour
3 cup Oats
1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
3/4 tsp Salt
1 1/2 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate morsels

Recipe Directions for Low Fat Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 375 and line a 15.5 x 10.5 jelly roll pan with parchment.

  2. Stir together the flour, oats, baking soda and salt in a bowl.

  3. Mix the sugar, applesauce, vanilla, and eggs just until smooth.

  4. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet just until moistened.

  5. Stir in the chocolate chips last then spread the batter evenly in the pan.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes and cool completely. Cut into 60 pieces.
