Lime and Chili flavored hummus without olive oil or tahini, thus removing most of the fat!

Recipe Ingredients for Low Fat Lime & Chili Hummus

10 serving Chick Peas (Goya) (dried)
45 grams Lemon Juice, Canned Or Bottled
5 1/5 grams Chili Powder
2 lime yields Lime Juice
3 grams Salt, Table
1 serving Garlic Paste (Goya)
1 serving Garlic Paste (Goya)
1 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Low Fat Lime & Chili Hummus

  1. Rehydrate 1 lb (2.5 cups dry, 6 cups wet) of chickpeas, cook, and puree with the following:

  2. 1 cup of the liquid from the beans (or water)-- add more if you prefer runnier hummus

  3. the juice and zest of 2 limes

  4. 3 tsp lemon juice

  5. 1 tbsp garlic paste

  6. 2 tsp chili powder

  7. 1/2 tsp salt
