Recipe Ingredients for Low fat flan

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
2 cups 2% milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 tablespoons sugar
2 egg yolks
2 eggs

Recipe Directions for Low fat flan

  1. combine 1 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup water, heat on high in heavy saucepan. do not stir, just swirl pan occasionally and heat until golden. pour into pie pan and coat sides. set aside.

  2. put eggs and egg yolks into blender and beat lightly.

  3. heat milk to just boiling over medium heat. slowly add to eggs in blender. add 6 tablespoons sugar and vanilla and stir until well blended.

  4. strain mixer through strainer or sieve into the caramel coated pie pan.

  5. cook 40 minutes on 350 degrees in a water bath.
