The honey listed in this recipe is actually Agave Nectur. Nutritionally their pretty similar. The sweetness of these brownies was ok. I just couldnt get past the gumminess. We made this one with out the coffee flavor but after tasteing the plain chocolate, it needs an additional flavor to counter the beans.

Recipe Ingredients for Low Fat Chocolate Brownies

10 oz Black beans
7 oz Egg whites
5 oz Cocoa Powder
1 oz Butter
12 oz Sugar
4 oz Honey
2 1/4 oz Cake Flour
2 1/4 oz Pastry Flour

Recipe Directions for Low Fat Chocolate Brownies

  1. Gather all the equipment and ingredients.

  2. Scale the ingredients.

  3. Melt Butter

  4. In a food processor, blend drained beans and 2 oz of egg whites. Set aside.

  5. Combine the bean mixture, sugar, flour, Cocoa, melted butter and remaining egg whites, and mix until well combined.

  6. Mix in the melted chocolate.

  7. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 F for 30-35 minutes
