Banana muffins made with applesauce, honey and yogurt instead of oil and sugar. Makes about 1 dozen regular-sized muffins.

Recipe Ingredients for Low Fat Banana Muffins

2 1/4 cup Wheat Flour, White, Bread, Enriched
3 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long) Bananas
1/2 tsp Salt, Table
3/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
3/4 tsp Leavening Agents, Baking Soda
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
3/4 cup FAGE Total 0%
3/4 cup Applesauce
1 tbsp Honey, Strained Or Extracted
1 tbsp Flaxseed
1 tbsp Coconut Oil, Unrefined, Organic
1/2 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, 2% Milkfat
4 tbsp Organic Dark Chocolate Chips

Recipe Directions for Low Fat Banana Muffins

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix dry ingredients.

  3. In a separate bowl, mash the bananas and add the vanilla extract, applesauce, yogurt, honey and egg.

  4. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry until just blended.

  5. Add the milk.

  6. Fold in the chocolate chips (optional) or nuts (optional)

  7. Pour into greased muffin tin.

  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until browned.
