Makes 14 servings



Very low fat version of granola as it uses applesauce in place of oil. Great mixed with yoghurt and fruit! Try using a different fruit puree/dried fruit combo for variety.

Recipe Ingredients for Low fat apple cinnamon granola

1 cup apples, dried
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup unsweetened coconut
100 grams oat bran
1/2 cup applesauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tbsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Low fat apple cinnamon granola

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. Mix applesauce, honey, sugar and cinnamon together in a small saucepan. Heat just enough to melt honey and blend ingredients.

  3. Pour applesauce mixture over oats and mix very well.

  4. Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 275 F for 30-45 minutes, stirring several times. Granola should be slightly brown and toasty all over.

  5. Let cool completely before storing.

  6. Makes 14 1/2 cup servings
