This is a low fat crispy biscotti, best dunked into some coffee or tea!

Recipe Ingredients for Low fat anise almond biscotti

1 3/4 cup All-purpose flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Sugar
2 1/2 teaspoon Anise seeds
3/4 teaspoon Baking powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup chopped almonds
2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 Eggs
1 egg white

Recipe Directions for Low fat anise almond biscotti

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Combine vanilla, eggs and egg white, and add to flour mixture, stirring until well-blended. The dough may look dry, which is normal.

  2. Turn dough out onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray; shape dough (may need to press dough together to shape because it can be a little dry) into a 12-inch-long roll, and flatten to 1/2-inch thickness.

  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack, and let cool slightly.

  4. Slice roll diagonally into 26 (1/2-inch) slices. Place slices, cut sides down, on a baking sheet.

  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until dry.

  6. Let cool by standing the biscotti vertically.
