Recipe Ingredients for Low-Chol Poaced Pears

2 c sweet white wine
1/2 c sugar
2 T lemon juice
4 Bosc pears

Recipe Directions for Low-Chol Poaced Pears

  1. Peel and core the pears. Slice in halves. Toss with lemon juice.

  2. Combine wine and sugar in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the pears to the wine and sugar. Cook on low heat 10 minutes.

  4. Cool in refrigerator. A half hour before serving, set on the counter and bring to room temperature.
