Recipe Ingredients for Low-Carb Spinach & Sausage Pizza

54 grams milled flax seed
95 grams almond flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp xylitol
3 eggs
1/2 cup water
11 grams chia seeds
10 grams black walnut oil
1/2 tsp minced garlic
188 grams reduced fat mozzarella
180 grams chicken sausage
34 grams soft goat cheese
11 grams shallots, finely sliced
14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes, no salt added
20 or other greens spinach arugula blend
1 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Low-Carb Spinach & Sausage Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

  2. Combine flax, almond flour, baking powder, salt, xylitol, herbs, and chia seeds in a mixing bowl.

  3. Add black walnut oil, eggs, and water, and stir vigorously.

  4. Allow crust to "rise" for 10 minutes. The chia seeds will absorb some of the water.

  5. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, then spread "dough" out in a circle. Use the back of a spoon to spread the dough out evenly.

  6. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, until edges are browned.

  7. Remove crust from oven and allow to cool for 2 minutes.

  8. Stir garlic into canned tomatoes, along with a bit of the herbs.

  9. Spread canned tomatoes evenly over crust.

  10. Top with mozzarella, sausage, goat cheese, shallots, and greens. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil.

  11. Bake pizza for another 15 minutes, or until cheese is just browned.

  12. Cool for 2 minutes and cut into 6 slices.
