A low calorie version of green bean casserole

Recipe Ingredients for Low Cal Green Bean Casserole

4 cups frozen green beans
8 oz baby bella mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion
1 teaspoon canola oil
8 dashes salt
8 dashes pepper
1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
1 cup skim milk
1 teaspoon canola oil
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup reduced fat sour cream

Recipe Directions for Low Cal Green Bean Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Thinly slice onion.

  3. Cook onion in 1 teaspoon canola oil.

  4. Add in 4 dashes of salt and 4 dashes pepper.

  5. Stir cooking slowly for 20 hours.

  6. Add 1 tablespoon bread crumbs to onions.

  7. Cook bella mushroom in 1 teaspoon canola oil about 4 minutes.

  8. Add flour, 4 dashes salt and 4 dashes pepper.

  9. Slowly stir in milk, making a thin sauce.

  10. Then stir in paprika and sour cream.

  11. In casserole dish stir green beans and sauce together.

  12. Top with onion mixture.

  13. Cook in oven for 30 minutes till bubbly and browning on top.
