Low call high fibre cranberry apricot squares

Recipe Ingredients for Low Cal Cranberry Apricot Oat Squares

1 1/2 cups dried apricot
1/2 cups dried cranberries
1/2 cup Margarine, Regular, Hard
1 1/2 cups wheat bran
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cups Sweetener
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cups dried pumpkin seeds
1/2 cups sliced almonds

Recipe Directions for Low Cal Cranberry Apricot Oat Squares

  1. combine water, cranberries and apricots (cut up) in pot. bring to boil, reduce heat and cover. let simmer for 10 minutes.

  2. Cut margarine into sweetener. Add bran, oats, baking soda, salt, pumpkin seeds and almonds. Stir to combine.

  3. Press 3/4 of dry mixture into bottom of 13x9x2 inch baking pan.

  4. Spread fruit filling over dry mixture.

  5. Sprinkle remaining dry mixture over fruit filling. Press lightly with fork.

  6. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack.
