These are about as low cal as a chocolate chip cookie can get and they're tasty too!

Recipe Ingredients for Low cal chocolate chip cookies

3/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter (softened)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 (large) egg
1 teaspoon (pure) vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Low cal chocolate chip cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat 2 baking sheet with cooking spray.

  2. Grind oats in a blender then add to a bowl with the flour, baking soda and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl using an electric mixer, beat butter until fluffy.

  4. Add applesauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg and vanilla until creamy.

  5. With mixer still running, slowly add in flour mixture until combined.

  6. Stir in chocolate chips.

  7. Drop the dough by the teaspoonful 1 inch apart onto the prepared baking sheets.

  8. Bake 1 sheet at a time until firm around the edges, about 15 minutes.

  9. Cool cookies on sheet for 5 minutes, then cool on wire racks.

  10. *Store in airtight container for 3 days or freeze up to 2 months.
