Seasoned ground turkey so flavorful that you won't realize it's not beef. This is one of my family's favorite meals. Resist the urge to have seconds as it's so delicious!

Recipe Ingredients for Lourdes' Turkey Tostadas

2 tablespoons chili powder
4 tsp onion powder
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp kosher salt
1 cup water
2 lbs. lean ground turkey
12 corn tortillas
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 cups fresh salsa
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups lettuce, shredded
2 cups cilantro, chopped
2 cups tomatoes, chopped
1 cup light sour cream

Recipe Directions for Lourdes' Turkey Tostadas

  1. Brown turkey in large pan. Pour out any excess fat. Add water and spices. Simmer for 10 minutes on low until the water evaporates.

  2. Spray a large frying pan with nonstick spray. Toast the tortillas until browned or crispy to your liking for about a minute on each side on med high heat. Dredge the tortilla in the parmesan cheese on a plate. This is the secret for tasty tortillas.

  3. Assemble your tostada with the turkey, cheese, salsa, lettuce, cilantro, tomatoes and sour cream. You can also top it with some jalapenos, hot sauce or olives. Delicious. It's always tempting for me to have more than one because they are so good but I always regret it later so resist the urge if you can.
