Recipe Ingredients for Lourdes' Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

1/3 cup margarine
8 oz reduced fat cream cheese
2 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 cups fat free milk
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Lourdes' Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

  1. Melt margarine in a medium nonstick pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and saute for 2 mins. Add cream cheese and stir with wire whisk until smooth.

  2. Add milk slowly, whisking constantly. Whisk in parmesan cheese, pepper and nutmeg. Simmer for five minutes and then turn off heat. The sauce will thicken more as it cools. Serve with whole wheat pasta.
