Recipe Ingredients for Lourdes' Bananas banana bread

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup splenda brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/3 cups bananas, mashed

Recipe Directions for Lourdes' Bananas banana bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 2 loaf pans.

  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, blend applesauce and brown sugar splenda. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well mixed. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture just until moistened. Pour 1/2 batter into prepared pans.

  3. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let bread cool in pans for 10 minutes then turn out on wire rack.

  4. Cut into 12 even slices per pan. If you can wait, it tastes even better after being wrapped in foil or plastic wrap; stored in the fridge and sliced the next day.
