An apple crisp with splenda brown sugar blend. I created this when searching for a replacement for apple pie on my first Thanksgiving as a diabetic. I use golden delicious apples.

Recipe Ingredients for Lourdes' Apple Crisp with splenda

1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup rolled oats
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup splenda brown sugar
1/3 cup margarine
5 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples

Recipe Directions for Lourdes' Apple Crisp with splenda

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Pour apples into dish.

  2. In a large bowl whisk together flours, oats, spices and splenda. Beat in margarine until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apples and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until tender.

  3. Let cool on wire rack. Serve with cool whip lite or sugar free cool whip.
