Recipe Ingredients for Loubie Bzeit

1 cups chopped onion
2 tbs olive oil
1 pounds green beans, fresh or frozen
1 tablespoons minced garlic
14 ounce diced tomato
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried sweet basil
3 cloves garlic

Recipe Directions for Loubie Bzeit

  1. One-pan cooking: Saute onions in olive oil over medium-high heat until light brown. If using fresh beans, rinse, shake dry and snip off stem ends and cut into bite-size pieces. Add beans to onions in pan and stir.

  2. Add crushed garlic and saute over medium heat for 4 minutes. Add tomatoes and seasonings; stir, then simmer 10 minutes. Add whole garlic and cook 10 to 15 minutes or until garlic and beans are tender.
