How can I lose 30 kg in 4 months?
Asked by biba28 on Nov 04, 2008 in Weight Loss

I am a 29 year old woman who weighs 92 kg (202 lb) and is 158 cm (5’2”) tall. I want to lose 30 kg (66 lbs) in 4 months. What should be my calorie intake per day?

Your weight loss goal is too aggressive to maintain an adequate nutrient intake and prevent the loss of your lean muscle. Furthermore, crash dieting places you at risk for binge-eating disorder, which takes you further away from your weight loss goal. A safe rate of weight loss is 0.25 – 1 kg (0.5 – 2 lb) per week. The Calorie Target calculator in the Tools section recommends 1550 calories per day for you to lose 0.7 kg per week. To lose faster, burn more calories by exercising for 60 minutes a day.
