I gained a lot of weight during to pregnancy - 25 kg (55 lb). Now, 2 months after delivery, I weigh 78 kg (172 lb). That is 18 kg more than my initial weight. I am 158 cm tall. How much time do I need to lose this overweight?
Don't diet yet if you are breastfeeding, but if you are not, you can start to lose right away. You, personally, can expect to lose 4 to 5 pounds (13kg) a month by eating 1250 calories a day. If you lose the extra pregnancy weight within six months of delivery, you are statistically more likely to return to your former weight. But women who don’t lose within that window of time are more likely to carry the weight 10 years later! In addition to counting your calories from food, you should walk or do another form cardio-type activity for 30 minutes or more on most days of the week.
