A much lighter thanksgiving stuffing recipe than the traditional high calorie and high fat stuffing.

Recipe Ingredients for Lite Turkey Stuffing

1 pound ground turkey
2 cups chopped onion
2 cups chopped celery
6 cups toasted bread
2 cups fat free chicken broth
3 tbs poultry seasoning
2 tbs ground sage
1 salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe Directions for Lite Turkey Stuffing

  1. Brown ground turkey and drain off fat.

  2. Add onions and celery and cook until tender.

  3. Add chicken broth & spices and bring to a boil.

  4. Turn off heat and add the toasted bread cubes ( mix whole wheat and sourdough bread for this)

  5. Stir in walnuts

  6. this stuffing can be heated inside the turkey or baked in a seperate pan (cover with foil to keep moist).

  7. Enjoy !
