This recipe takes the original NESTLEŽ TOLL HOUSEŽ cookie recipe and substitutes 1/2 cup Sunsweet Lighter Bake for the butter, 2 tsp soy flour for the egg yolks, and white whole wheat flour for the all-purpose. NOTE: on the recipe ingredients, USE Sunsweet Lighter Bake instead of the applesauce. Lighter Bake was not found in this recipe analyzer.

Recipe Ingredients for Lighter & Healthier Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 4/5 cup applesauce (SUBSTITITUE 1/2 cup Sunsweet Lighter Bake - 2.8 cup applesauce is the equivalent calorie/fat count to 1/2 cup Lighte
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large egg white
2 tsp soy flour
12 ounce Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, NESTLEŽ TOLL HOUSEŽ
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe Directions for Lighter & Healthier Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. COMBINE wheat flour, soy flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat 1/2 cup Sunsweet Lighter Bake, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Chill dough for at least 1 hour in refrigerator. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets lined w/ parchment paper.

  3. BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
