Lower-sugar/lower-fat version of my other granola recipe. WONDERFUL with yogurt.

Recipe Ingredients for Light Dark and Chewy Granola

10 cup dry Old Fashioned Quaker Oats
129 3/5 grams Wheat Germ
4 oz Baking Nuts Pecan Halves
6 tbsp Sunflower Seeds
1 cup, packed Sugars, Brown
1 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 tbsp Cinnamon, Ground
0.5 cup Vegetable Oil, Canola
0.5 cup Honey, Strained Or Extracted
0.5 cup Molasses, Blackstrap
1.5 tsp Salt, Table
1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
0.75 tsp Almond Extract

Recipe Directions for Light Dark and Chewy Granola

  1. Mix oatmeal, wheat germ, and nuts in very large bowl.

  2. Heat everything else gently in large saucepan until combined. DO NOT boil.

  3. Pour liquids over oat mixture, spread on 2 cookie sheets.

  4. Bake at 300 degrees 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently.

  5. Let cool completely and store in an airtight container up to two weeks.
