Recipe Ingredients for Lentil stew

1 cup dry lentils (or 2 cans cooked)
1 onion, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
5 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1 tbsp canola oil
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 cup water
1 tsp dry savory
1/2 cup parsley, fresh, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika

Recipe Directions for Lentil stew

Saute onions in the canola oil until translucent in a 3 quart pot over medium-high heat. Add carrots, celery and garlic and continue to saute for about 5 min, or until vegetables start to change their color. Add paprika, mix and immediately add tomato paste. Stir well and poor the water. Add drained lentils and salt (if needed). Cover with lid, bring to a boil then lower the heat to medium and cook about 10 min. Add dry savory, stir and cook another 5 min. Switch off the heat, add chopped parsley, stir and cover. Leave it on the hot plate to finish cooking.
