Lentil soup with carrot, celery and peas

Recipe Ingredients for Lentil Soup

240 g organic lentils
4 cups water
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon powder
3 cloves garlic
1 cup peas
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Recipe Directions for Lentil Soup

  1. Rinse lentils in cold water several times before adding to cooking pot. In a medium-size cooking pot, add lentils and water and boil for about 30 minutes.

  2. Add carrots, celery, and chicken soup base to pot and simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes or until lentils are soft.

  3. Add garlic, salt and pepper and simmer for another 15 minutes.

  4. Adjust seasonings to taste.
