Recipe Ingredients for Lentil Sloppy Joes

1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cups water
8 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup dry lentils, rinsed
1/2 cup catsup
1 tsp cider vinegar
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 hamburger rolls

Recipe Directions for Lentil Sloppy Joes

  1. In a skillet cook meat, onions, and garlic over medium heat.

  2. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 60-70 minutes or until lentils are tender.

  4. Serve on whole grain buns.
