This casserole is versatile, healthy, and cheap.

Recipe Ingredients for Lentil-Rice Casserole

3 cup (8 fl oz) Soup, Chicken Broth Or Bouillon
3/4 cup Lentils, Mature Seeds
1/2 cup Rice, Brown, Long-grain
8 tsp Minced Onion
9 tsp Garlic
1/2 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp, ground Basil, Dried
56 1/2 grams Cheddar Cheese

Recipe Directions for Lentil-Rice Casserole

Blend all ingredients together in a greased casserole dish. If preferred, you may use less garlic and add oregano or thyme as well You may also add ham, ground beef, chicken, or sausage . Bake covered for 90 minutes at 300 degrees. If desired, top with grated cheese during the last 20 minutes. (Calories already included.)
