Based on a recipe from Nepal. Really good with wilted spinach.

Recipe Ingredients for Lentil Dal

2 T Olive oil
2 T garlic paste
2 T curry powder
1 T turmeric
1 t salt
2 c red lentils
2 c brown rice

Recipe Directions for Lentil Dal

  1. Heat a large skillet

  2. Add oil and fry garlic paste for a minute

  3. add spices and fry one minute more

  4. add lentils and cover with water

  5. bring to boil then reduce to simmer until lentils are soft

  6. serve over boiled brown rice
